The huge hall on the upper floor is divided into themed zones that can be likened to laboratories for studying natural phenomena and the properties of air, water, electricity, acoustics, speed and optics.
Visitors do not merely look at the equipment and instruments — they become participants in scientific experiments and explorers of the laws of physics. Here, at every step, one discovery follows another. The beautifully designed multimedia boards, stands and mechanisms are accompanied by information plates with instructions written in Ukrainian and English. A diagram of a solar power plant and a model of a hydroelectric power station are on display.
The laws of hydraulics are studied vividly in transparent tanks, where you can sink a ship, create a whirlpool and a small storm. A special installation demonstrates how a destructive tornado forms as a column when warm and cold air masses meet under the action of a side wind.
Optical illusions delight and astonish, and the experiments with the spectral decomposition of light are accessible even to those unfamiliar with optics.
The robot can dance, sing, perform various tasks, answer questions and smile, blushing all the while.
You get a fantastic sensation, and a real sense of what gravity is, in a space with a starry sky and cosmic music.
At the Science Museum they not only reveal the secrets of nature but also try to awaken a sense of humanity in people, inviting you to ride in a wheelchair over an obstacle course. Water is the Earth's chief treasure. How is it obtained, conserved and purified? The answers are on a multimedia stand. The museum has a sound-recording studio in which anyone can test the power of their voice and their musical abilities.
Only at the Science Museum, at the Tesla coil, can you feel an electrical discharge with the help of a special glove.
Generating a magnetic field, feeling the force of a hurricane and much more is allowed at the Science Museum. Visitors receive not only a visual picture but also interact with the displays.
The museum will keep expanding, adding new displays and equipment, and the project's founder and owner, Roman Sanin, is confident in his decision to keep moving forward: "While they destroy, we build."
