The "Kleban-Byk" regional landscape park. Resting, enjoying, contemplating
The Kleban-Byk regional landscape park was created in 2000 in the Kostiantynivka and Bakhmut districts of the Donetsk region.

The territory of the nature reserve fund, with an area of 2,900.1 hectares, includes the shore of the Kleban-Byk river and the water area of the Kleban-Byk reservoir.
The nature-protection site received the status of a natural monument in 1975.
The protected zone is a nature-protection and recreational institution of regional significance, which was created without the withdrawal of land plots, water and other natural objects from their owners or users, with the aim of preserving in a natural state typical and unique natural complexes and objects, as well as ensuring conditions for the organised recreation of the population.
Its close location to the industrial centres allows the residents of the Donetsk region towns to reach this heavenly corner of nature quickly and easily.
Those driving along the H-20 Sloviansk-Mariupol highway, 2 kilometres from the Kostiantynivka ring road, will surely notice a sculptural composition of representatives of the Jurassic-period fauna that inhabited these places millions of years ago.
Statues of extinct dinosaurs are set up at the entrance to the territory of the Kleban-Byk regional landscape park.
For tourists a site has been laid out with gazebos, a car park, benches and a toilet.
For the attention of visitors an exposition is presented with samples of petrified araucarias, 300 million years old. The artefacts were found in Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka in a worked-out quarry.
The stands inform about observing the protection regime of the park and acquaint visitors with the plant and animal world of the natural monument.
Across the territory 3 ecological paths are laid out, the directions of which are indicated by arrows.
The creation of the park is a tribute to the historical past and in memory of the Zaporozhian Cossacks, whose sentry outpost was located not far from Toretsk.
In the tsarist charters that defined the borders of the Cossack liberties, the name "the Bychok river tract" is encountered.
The territory of the park is a hilly area, a gully cut by ravines, covered with drought-resistant vegetation.
Among the trees, oak, ash, elm, lime and maple predominate; among the shrubs — dog rose, cotoneaster and hawthorn. Wild apple and pear trees are also found.
In 2006 the "Chysti Dzherela" (Clean Springs) public organisation, the park staff and pupils of the Oleksandro-Kalynivka school laid out a stand of pine forest. The seedlings were brought from the "Sviati Hory" (Holy Mountains) national park.
The animal world is represented by about 30 species of mammals, among them wild boars, roe deer, hares and foxes.
Here about 140 species of birds nest and make their migration.
In the reservoir there live about 20 species of fish, and on the banks — turtles, frogs and 6 species of reptiles.
On the northern side of the park one can observe geological outcrops with the bedrock of the Permian period coming to the surface.
The stony clearings were adorned with fragments of petrified araucarias.
On the tops of the hills, viewing platforms with gazebos have been created.
From the heights, wonderful views open up for ten kilometres, as far as Toretsk.
Along the ridges of the hill one can descend to the body of water. Fishing is free of charge.
In the protected zone various sculptures of epic heroes, animals, birds and sea shells have been set up.
The regional landscape park includes the "Druzhkivka Petrified Trees" natural monument
andthe "Krovetska Gully" natural monument.
Entry to the territory of the park is 15 hryvnias, use of the car park is 30 hryvnias.
