Mezhova. The Railway Station and the Station Settlement
Mezhova station of the Lyman division of the Donetsk Railway is located in the settlement of the same name in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The distance to Udachna station is 20 kilometres in an easterly direction, and to Demuryne station 22 kilometres in a south-westerly direction.

The known opening date of this station of the Katerynynska Railway is 18 May 1884. One version of the origin of the station's name is based on its position on the boundary — the mezha — of the lands of the old villages of Ivanivka and Petropavlivka. Mezhova is the easternmost station in the Dnipropetrovsk region; about 15 kilometres are left to drive to the border with the Donetsk region.

In the years of the Hitlerite occupation the station lay in a zone of active fighting; the station building suffered and lost its second storey. Before retreating, Soviet troops blew up the water tower. The Germans had to rebuild the pumping station in order to refuel the Reich's armoured trains and steam locomotives, and they went about it with a sense of responsibility. A cobbled road leads to the six-sided, hexagonal structure of red brick. The bonding of the joints, offset at the corners, creates a brick decor that lends the tower a stateliness. Traces of shelling have remained on the walls, but the sturdy building survived and could have served the people of Mezhova for a long time yet.

The commissioning of the station spurred the building of the settlement. The street adjoining the station is called Transportna. At first there were 5 houses by the station for railway employees and workers. In the buildings that acquired the local name «holubnyk», the dovecote, the families of those who served the railway infrastructure have been living for almost 140 years.

In 2022 the station is served by regional train 826 Dnipro-Avdiivka and the suburban trains Dnipro-Mezhova and Chaplyne-Avdiivka.

The suburban ticket office has been closed since January 2021 as unprofitable. Tickets can be bought from the conductors or on the Ukrzaliznytsia website.
