Prosiana. The V. V. Pryklonskyi Railway Station

A railway station is a line subdivision through which the railway's link with its users is carried out.  The V. V. Pryklonskyi Prosiana station is located in the settlement of Prosiana in the Synelnykove district of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

This freight-and-passenger station of the Krasnyi Lyman division of the Donetsk Railway sits at an equal distance between the stations of Chaplyne (12 km) and Demuryne (12 km).

The station has been in operation since 1884, when the Synelnykove-Yasynuvata section of the Katerynynska Railway was opened, linking two industrial regions — the Donbas and the Kryvbas.

The opening of the station encouraged the extraction of the kaolin deposits and the building of the fireclay works and the kaolin plant.

Along with the enterprises, houses appeared in the station settlement on the southern side of the station building, belonging to the owners of the timber and goods warehouses and the oil depot, to the keeper of the coaching inn, to the postmaster and to the shopkeepers.

In 1882, under the direction of the engineer V. O. Tytov, a two-storey house was put up for the station staff. A brick ornament adorned the structure of hewn natural stone. The red framing of the windows and the openwork cornice around the perimeter of the building lend it refinement and singularity.

The two-storey station building has single-storey annexes on two sides.

Inside are the waiting hall and the technical services.

The ticket office is closed as unprofitable. In the waiting hall the heating works during the winter season.

On the northern side of the station building there are 7 railway tracks and 2 passenger platforms.

The access track running in an easterly direction serves the freight traffic of the Prosiana grain elevator, and the one running west with a turn to the south that of the Prosiana kaolin plant.

At the petition of the Donetsk Railway and with the aim of perpetuating the name of its former head, in 2011 the station was named in honour of Viktor Vasyliovych Pryklonskyi. Memorial monoliths bearing the new name have been set up on both sides of the station building.

In 2021 the station is served by passenger train No. 135/136 Kyiv-Avdiivka, regional train No. 826 Dnipro-Avdiivka, and the suburban trains running Dnipro-Mezhova, Chaplyne-Pokrovsk and Chaplyne-Avdiivka.
