Pohulianka Nature Reserve Park is located in the south-eastern part of Lviv, in the area of the same name, where townspeople have loved to stroll since the mid-19th century.

The history of the park's creation can be traced back to the 17th century, when peasants leased these lands from the Lviv burgomaster. In 1821 one of the plots was acquired by the restaurateur Johann Distl, who created a park on it. Avenues were laid out in the dense forest, ornamental plants were planted, and ponds were cleared. The green recreation area with restaurants and confectioneries became a favourite of Lviv residents, and Pohulianka's next owner, Jan Klein, built a brewery here.
After the Second World War, the production facilities of Lviv's finest beer were used to open the Ukrvyno plant with a wide range of fruit-and-berry beverages, one of which — the vermouth 'Flowers of Pohulianka' — had the refined aroma of a blooming park and was popular with consumers. In the 2000s the enterprise at 26 Pohulianka Street closed down, the winery buildings collapsed, and only a mosaic that survived among the ruins, created by the artists Hryhorii Kichula and Yaroslav Sheremet, depicts the painstaking process of the harvest.

The Pasika stream flows freely through Pohulianka — one of the sources of the Poltva River, whose waters within the city are hidden in a sewer collector. Ducks gracefully manoeuvre in the cascade of ponds created in the bed of the Pasika.

The Silver Stream, as the water artery of Pohulianka is called, shaped the relief of the park area. From the central avenue, paths and walking routes branch out across the slopes and hills.

The park's green stock, covering almost 102 hectares, consists of oak, pine, hornbeam, birch, maple, alder, anemone, thuja, willow, and spruce.

In the northern part of the park rises the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the former church of the convent of the Armenian Benedictine nuns (1897). Along the hilly ridge runs a Way of the Cross with 14 stations of the Passion of the Lord.
